108 | Good moms can totally suck at homemaking. Meant to Bloom: personal growth for hot mess moms

How’s that secret competition with the aesthetic mom on Instagram who doesn’t know you exist going? I have yet to encounter a mom who is fully herself, fully empowered, fully happy with her life who is running the race to keep her home perfectly kept, dust free, smelling nice, decorated like it’s straight out of HGTV, attending every kid’s event, leading the PTA, and intimately fulfilled in her marriage. What are you working so hard for? Are you curating the life you really want to be living? It’s not like you can get the house perfect and then stop – it’s ongoing, there is no end game here.

Unpopular opinion: your skill level as a homemaker and house keeper has nothing to do with how good of a mom you are.

In case no one has ever told you:

You can be a good mom with a messy house.

You can be a good mom who takes short cuts in the kitchen.

You can be a good mom who doesn’t put her kids in sports.

You can be a good mom who doesn’t have any clean underwear.

It’s not your home making skill level, the amount of time you spend volunteering for the PTA, or the your ability to make a perfect sourdough that make you a good mom: it’s the fierce, undying, unconditional, unstoppable love you have for your kids that does.

In this episode we’re chatting about

Want to know the best way to sabotage your own success? We’re talking about that the time I did that today, so buckle up, Buttercup! I’ve heard a lot lately about the concept of aiming to 10x your success rather than 2x, but I’m questioning how that applies to success in motherhood instead of business?…

84: Probably the Real Reason You Feel Like a Crappy Mom

Motherhood is not housekeeping. Adulting with kids is not the same as “motherhood”. Anyone trying to do tasks with a child is facing an incredible handicap – that’s not what makes motherhood hard. Good moms can suck at cleaning, cooking, baking.  How do you define motherhood? How do you measure your success as a mom?…
