89: Making Your Memories Last While Enjoying The Everyday Moments with Stacy Mae Meant to Bloom: personal growth for hot mess moms

How many times have you taken a photo of your kids just to feel bad about it later because the background was a disaster? Or maybe you spent an entire dance recital trying to get a decent video of your kid and forgot to actually enjoy being there?

I had the opportunity to interview Stacy of Stacy Mae & Co Photography. We had an incredibly profound chat about motherhood and preserving memories through photography while overcoming the guilt and shame of living with messy surroundings.

Stacy shared with us her own experiences being a mom to teens and “starting all over” with a now 5 year old and how taking photos has helped her gain gratitude and overcome her insecurities in motherhood. I really think you’re gonna like her, but here’s a bit about Stacy that I snagged from her website (https://stacymaeandco.com/):

“I’m a working mom with 3 girls who keep me super busy. One is in college, one is in high school, and the other is in preschool. And no she wasn’t an accident. Lol! I know, I know, we’re crazy, but hubby and I wanted to give it one more shot and now our family is complete.

Most days you’ll find me in my car driving back and forth between school, at the grocery store (I’m there almost every day!), or in front of the TV watching something on Netflix. My husband, on the other hand, would rather be watching football. The things I am most passionate about in life are my family, friends, our rescue pup, and really good conversation. Oh and maybe chocolate. I can’t go a day without it! If I get an hour or two by myself I’m usually lost in a romantic comedy, singing at the top of my lungs, or browsing Instagram

In this episode we’re chatting about

  • How photography became a source of joy for Stacy
  • Tips for lowering your photo count on your phone
  • Overcoming the stress of the mess in the background

83: Keeping Our Kids Safe with Dr. Missy Gryder

We like to pretend that some things aren’t a problem until they are a problem. In some cases this may work for you… But when it comes to the safety of our children, that’s not the time to chance it. We have to stop turning a blind eye to its existence and talk about the…
